Weather:dd Showers/Very Windy
Bait:Rag/Mack
dd
Rigs:2 Hook Flappers
Results:2 Doggies, 3 Flounders, 3 Small Coalies, 1 half eaten Coalie
Report: Managed to sneak away from painting the kitchen for a few hours and decided to give the Pier at Waterfoot a try.
A couple of guys were fishing but things were slow but they had caught a few mackerel earlier.
I cast out and within the first hour had a small coalie and a flounder. By then the wind had started to pick up and was making things a little uncomfortable. The other 2 guys packed up ( thanks for the fresh mack) and I was the only left on the Pier.
Over the next couple of hours I had a couple of nice sized Doggies, 2 more Flounder and a couple more small Coalies.
By about 11.30pm the wind had become very strong and it was becoming harder to stand up straight, I decided to give it one more cast and then go. After about 20 mins I reeled in to find a small Coalie of about 6 inches with the whole middle of it gone. All there was left of it was the head, the area along its back and the tail. Something had clearly taken a liking to it while it was on my hook. Any ideas guys?

most likely crabs if it was huss or conger they would eat the lot and maybe even get hooked..
happens alot down here when you hook a whiting or pouting....crabs will mangle it within a few minutes if it isnt bought in...
