People: Me

Duration: 7-10pm

Tide: HT around 9pm

Weather:calm

Bait:rotten lug, dead crab, refrozen razor

Rigs:pennell pulley, ledger

Report:

I had missed some good fishing over the big tides so went out despite the fact that the bait I dug in the middle of last week was well and truly mouldy...

Wrapped a few dead lug together, chucked them out and hoped for the best.
ledger was drifting around a fair bit but picking up weeds in the process.
After an unsucessfull 45mins a few locals showed up and started fishing within a hundred yards of me.
They had a bass within 5 mins and soon after had another.
My manky lug was not working
Decided to try a razor on a pennell pulley with a griplead on my heavier rod out a bit further.
5 mins I heard my tripod falling over, picked up the rod and felt a good sized fish on.
I was glad it was the heavier rod as the fish picked up a few weeds on the line and caught up in the other line I had out, so It was a fair struggle to get him in.
But it was some fish, 10lbs even, a first for me, hopefully not a last.
Got another lad of about 2lbs and missed 2 good strikes which did'nt hook up ( hook barbs seemed very flat when I got home, could the baiting needle have done this??)
The dead crab didnt get any bites either, all bites on 3 leftover razorfish refrozen after a session.

Really nice bass, had one very similar in the same spot last year. Looks like the odd big one turns up there. On the refrozen razor. I have refozen it a couple of times myself and it doesn't seem to affect it.
