[b]People me/son/dauther

[b]Duration 1.00 to 5.20

[b]Tide L/W at 3.20

[b]Weather some rain, but warm

[b]Bait mac;/squid/sandeel

[b]Rigs 1 hook pulley

[b]Results me; two ray and loads of dogies, son loads of dogies,1 tub gurard

[b]Report seen a brake in the weather so we hit fahan for a few hours, put my first rod out baited up with mackerel and squid, in the middle of setting up my other rod the first rod went, and i was into a nice thorn back ray. then the son was into a dogie, after that it was a dogie on nearly every cast, then the son got a tub gurard, i ended the session with an other ray, at this stage the sky went nearly black with the rain starting again, so we headed for home.

cracking days fishing fella. What kind of rig was that you were using? Fahan can be a horrible place to be if the wind and weed pick up!

what i know about this beach is if your not catching anything, a move of 40 or 50 yards can make a big differance. in the past i have seen anglers fishing about 60 yards up to the right of me and not even getting a bite, were as i was getting ray on every cast, and they were useing the same bait as me.
on this beach there can be a very strong current at times, so i like good long grip wires to get the hold.
the rig is a standard pulley with one 4.0 hook, but i have the snood at around 4 1/2 foot to give it a bit more distance away from the grip wires, snood is loaded with beads and tubeing

Nice looking ray - well done.

I will have to have a go at targeting them myself soon - I must make up a couple of rigs like yours.
