People: Me.
Duration: 20.00-00.00
Tide: HW @ ~20.00
Weather: Calm & humid (wind to F2 later).
Bait: Sandeel, mackerel
Rigs: Pulley.
Results: 1 mackerel, 3 doggies.
Report:
After what seemed like a loooong break from fishing (race week in Galway and all that  ), I needed a fix, and quick! Grabbed the gear and frozen bait and headed to Little Killary. Arrived just about on full tide only to find the place awash with mackie bashers :( . Apparently, reports of men, women and children pulling them in by the hundreds the previous evening seemed to have spread  . Weather was perfect - fairly flat sea - images of ray springing to mind :D . Found a spot to get a line out. Out went a pulley with a sandeel and mackerel strip. Sat back and watched the antics - crack-offs, snags and almost every flavour of casting style you can think of  . Meanwhile the midges were starting to feast on me  . After a bait-change, I realised I'd have to put up with a few pests: bait-stripping crabs, flesh-hungry midges and mackerel-starved bashers :D . An hour passed before anything (other than crabs) touched my bait. A good sized mackerel decided he wanted by bait straight off the seabed :? . As light started to fade, the 2-legged pests decided to head for home. The abundant numbers of mackerel weren't around tonight!! As the breeze picked-up, the midges also decided to head elsewhere. Things were starting to look up :) . I was busy watching the lovely sunset when the ratchet fired. Pulled a doggie to the surface and was grateful to get past the last remaining pests :D . As darkness fell, took another few doggies (and missed a few as well!). The wind was picking up quiet a bit and decided to pack up at midnight as no ray were showing, but at least I satisfied my craving - for the moment  . Actually, it's already been 2 days since that little session and I'm already feeling the need for another fix   .

you need some patience for those 2 legged pests
its a wonder they stuck it out - the reports must have been good
the last day there - they hardly last 3 casts before giving up and going home
was the wire still on the bolt of the gate?

Ya, one of the guys fishing with his wife was there the evening before and were pulling in 4 at a time, every cast. Said they took 100+ between them in an hour and a half

Yep...and well wrapped around it. Wouldn't be surprised if it got converted to a lock one of these days :(
