antrim coast ray 26/7/08

People:me + the ghost

Duration:3 hours

Tide:high down

Weather:light winds foggy dry

Bait:rag + mack

Rigs:pulleys + 3/0 pats

Results: 1 cuckoo ray + 17 dogs




Report:went for a few hours looking cuckoo or spotted rays, ghost got first dog after 10 mins then we were both bitten of on the way in 35lb snoods possibly rays then i got a nice cuckoo ray 8)
then as dark fell the dogs started big time with a few double shots hard to get past them to the rays so headed home
this was our 5th cuckoo of 3 different marks along the same stretch of coast happy days

Hard to believe the coincidence but I was actually going through my saved messages and noticed a couple from yourself re Antrim Coast and was just wondering if you were still fishing this part of the world....lo and behold :shock:

cheers lads been having a bit of luck this year with species :D
the ghost has had a few too and theres also spotted rays among them

if it cant get its jaws round a 1/0 its not worth catching [ mullet excluded ]

5th Cuckoo on the antrim coast dont think it is down to luck. You must be putting in the hours.

Got to add a ray to my species list soon. Just something about the way they look and swim that facinates me.

well done there lad, caught one myself of waterfoot pier a while back
lovely looking fish, any chance of a rough idea of where you got them, if so pm me please
