non-return of licences

#1 Post by Guest »

Sorry guys but I've really got a bee in my bonnet about this one - the requirement to return expired documents + tags , and the fine which is actually enforced if you don't . Just looking for a half-way rational explanation of the objectives , what is actually done with the logged info etc .
Moderator - please let me know if this topic should be outside the forum . If it isn't , can anyone comment or point me in the right direction ?
Many thanks

Does no-one know or does no-one care ? Maybe I'm asking a really stupid question ? Maybe I've found the only subject that no-one is prepared to have a crack at on this website .

tags ? seems to me that like its a wast of good money that could be better spent
spending it on anti poaching/netting of bass salmon sea trout which is wide spread along the south/west coast
plus lots of fish are sold privately without being tagged
i was acommercial fisherman and est. that only 50% of
salmon were ever tagged
