Very weldone Pete on the win and to anyone who managed a fish at all.
Conditions were horrible and the weed in the water ruined any chance of actually fishing for everyone. Casting out anything other than 5 yards resulted in the tide taking your rig as far left as you allowed it to go. Each cast lasted approx 5 minutes before having to spend 10 picking all the weed from the line. Tough going and hard to stay out in.

I'm sure it was a huge disappointment to all concerned after all the hard work that went into organising the event and those who showed up. Prizes were exceptional though and hopefully the weather gods will be kinder next year!

Hats off to JD, Jonathan, and Mac who Planned, Pegged and Done all the work to make the Open happen.

Steve Crowe flew the SAI flag too with 2nd prize in his zone. Good on ya!

Very disappointing the way things turned out, but we'll learn from it.
Thanks to Jonathan for going back down the next day and making sure the beaches were free of litter.

fishing was hard work.. i'm still surprised by the flounder that must have chased after my bait as weed wind and surf was running it along the beach at high speed.

even more surprised i got a place in the zone  just shows how tough the fishing was
