Great piece of news Graham. I will ask for the number next time I'm down that way. Have you been up to much during the ban? or do you normally just take a bit off time off fishing at this time?

yes Kev its great that you have got guys out there like noel one tough old mother of a baliff who takes no shite from anyone,,he has been looking after the waterford estuary, bannow to cullingstown a very delicate area with Bass ,trout and salmon he has 7 guys under him too,,this prosicution was a joint effort involving imfo and sightings by anglers too,,so dont be shy ,,noel and his gang are now looking at pleasure boats going out in the bays and returning with illegal amounts of fish ,,more than 2 bass ,,wait till you hear that story, and shore anglers breaking the rules,
i have just been noseing around and i am pleased to say not spotted one angler in the last month on any known bass mark,,so there is a message getting out there ,the world is a changing place and others must change ireland needs its fish rescourses for ireland and tourism not for the whole of europe to plunder and kill

a very happy but irate gee

I know the said gentleman and I have to say I am delighted.
I have come across netting in the back strand lately and theres still some going on between Creaden Head and Cheekpoint on The West side of the harbour.
Would be great if you PM me the mobile number and then I could report the offenders in real time.

What about a "sticky" with contact adress/phone/e-mail of authority offices (not individuals) - on a regional basis - so that shore anglers can alert illegal fishing?
