Mulranny pier 18

4 hours

tide 3 hour after high

bait mackeral,crab, minnow and pollack

Catch 2 catfish , 1 conger eel and 1 pollack

full moon

very strong current

a brill night of it 3 of us went down to the pier and only one pulled a blank thankfully it wasn't me . tom caught a conger in about 20 min on mack straight away after that i hooked a doggie got him out of water but wasn't meant to be as bait ran . i put onn a bright minnow to catch some bait just dropped it in and had a apollack after that tom caught 2 catfish on pollack at about 1 something big hit my rod unfortunate same crack got it in near the pier and it came off must change bait set up not enough of hook being exposed i have been told

great night feck all of a breeze big full moon plenty of bites
good laugh at wayne pulling a blank

do those catfish of yours have another name - that pier was a complete tackle graveyard the time i tried it

Hi TAZ
Fish that area a fair bit and just was wondering is the same place between Newport and Curran , and would the catfish be rockling by any chance i don't know of any salt water cats i could be wrong . Send me a pm if you want to give it a lash sometime

sorry ya rockling tasted funky definitely not bringing home again
had no hassle lost no baits got snagged a few times but ya will have that it is a spot i will be hitting again
