Report:left dublin on saturday morning and arrived in waterford station bout 12 o'clock, headed straight to ferg's mark, and after a tortuous walk of about 45mins we arrived. a stunning rock mark clearing to sand i decided to go for dogs from the beginning, 4 cast later and i had 3 dogs, then i missed a typical wow wow bite and so did ferg, knowing species points where necessary i decided it was time to try for a pollock, out went a jelly worm and 20 mintues later nothing, put on a rig for wrasse and got me pollock at 46cm, then two ballans followed suit, 31 and 29 respectively. while i was farting around looking for wrasse ferg had managed a double dog and the game was on. the last hour and a half or so we had 20 dogs between us, fergs final double led to his rod snapping at the tip which meant i could claw back a 3 dog deficit without trouble and proceeded to take a 6 fish lead, meanwhile ferg had earned a valuable 39cm pollock using different tactics. lines up and i was ahead by 5 fish.

after a night in a fine deise pub, we headed for my mark, greystones rocks, having amassed 49 fish on thursday night in 4 hours i was quietly confident of a god session, and knew my 5 fish lead was near enough to win.3 hours into the comp i had a plaice just under the mark, a few dogs where got too, two dogs behind here i knew i could claw my way back, ferg proceeded to hammer cleaning up with 5 dogs and an undersized dab, to my 1 dog and undersized plaice, back to the van to do the totals and i had won by 65 points, those wrasse proved valuable in the end  roll on the next comp

best advice for catching species is girls dont like fishing and its hard to catch fish when you sell all your gear'

Nice report Eric
!st time I have had computer on since. I really enjoyed it looking forward to next year.
Great Idea for a comp especially for the likes of myself who,s only fishing a short while. Learn,t a hell of a lot from eric. Tied a rig or two for me showed a few different ways of presenting bait etc so again thanks. That was of course until the last couple of hours when I had him sweating a little. Lost by approx one fish in the end. Fishing with to light gear for dog bashing.

Hope Eric enjoyed his night out in a Deise pub, a few more like that and he will be able for a proper night out with SAI lads
