Duration:11:00- 14:00
Tide:high water @ 10:30
Weather:sunny with gentle westerly
Bait:mackerel
Rigs:up & overs, pennel clippes 1/0,2/0,3/0
Results:3 ray to 8lbs
Report:the first hour or so was slow and i wasnt fishing the best with heavy weed in the water..then i noticed a small bite and landed a small 2lb ray....not long after that he fireblabe and the same 6500 that got hammered by the conger yesterday showed a little bite so i took it..good fight followed mostly dead weight with a few powerful runs and when the fish first surfaced i thought it was maybe 4lbs..as it went under the surface for the last twenty yards and was really fighting hard i knew it was a better fish..the scale confirmed that thought when it swung round to 8lbs.After that i got another small ray on the other rod and i re-baited and cast out..few of the lads came down for a chat after that so i knid of ignored the rods for a while and decide to pack it up after that..could have caught a few more as usual no doubt.....great weekends fishing though...exactly what i needed after a disasterous session in tralee bay last weekend... :D

That was a depressing session in Tralee bay alright, but what can you do if the fish ain't around. I just had another depressing day off fenit pier, circa 15 wrasse and only 1 counter. Well done on the rays.
Was that where Donagh fished during the week? How many ray have you so far this year? I think I have only one.

Did you get the fish to the penel clipped or the up and overs?
Donagh
twas alright...tide wasnt bad at all except for the bit of weed got the big one on an up & over and one of the smalll ones on the clipped pennell cant remember what i got the other ray on....
