Penn Reel Strip Down.
Having some problems with my Penn Mag525 Slidey. It sticking in retrieve and not letting me put into free-spool or going it is going in and popping back out. Happened whilst casting in Salt Hill (about 20 people watching me... ) Took the damn thing home, opened her up for a look.....there seems to be a spring thingy floating around inside..anyone got a picture of how it should all look inside? Or know a web site with repair instructions?
Thanks
Sam
Thanks
Sam

Had another go at it last night and cliped the spring into a small hole on the eccentric (19) and tucked it into the left side of the eccentric jack.(11) It all went together but not sure its in the right place as the reel no has a touch of the opposite problem and won't go out of free spool mode fully.
Anyone brave enough to open there reel and have a look inside? Take a pic of draw a picture.....
Failing that anyone know a reel repair in Galway or at a push Cork, although i need the reel ready for Friday so will have to be somewhere quick.
Thanks

Sam. this part of the penn is the most fiddly and annoying! it takes a little(ehem!) time to get used to. it is likely that something is not staying the correct position before the reel is assembled. the reel can still be put back together with the owner being none the wiser!
chances are the 'eccentric spring' is not fitted correctly into the 'eccentric'(part no. 19). it can easily come out of place before tightening. i could be wrong, but it sounds like this is the problem. keep at it! you will get it eventually. there is a bit of a knack to it.
if you are really stuck i will open up the reel and take a photo- just don't have time now!
