People: Me, Myself, agus I

Duration: 2:30-5:00 PM

Tide: Risin I think

Weather: Sunny No wind

Bait: Rag, Lug, Mack, Razor

Results: Codling (My first) , Dabs, Sack of Dogs, Cuckoo Wrasse, Sea scorpion.

Report: Arrived at the pier baited up a 2 Hook flapper With rag and lug. Lobbed it out about 80 or 90 yards. Baited up a second trace this time with a sliver of mack and a few maddies. after a few moments there was a few knocks on the rod tip picked it up to see what the craic was felt another nibble struck reeled it in and had a Dab and a stinkin Dog. this continued until around 4:00. Then there was a bite that looked different....A lot different... once again i took the fishing stick and felt for any bites there was a nice bang knock on the rod so i struck and started reeling, after a few moments i saw the fish in the water and to my surprise it was a CODLING this really made my day because it was my FIRST EVER!!. Next I got a Cuckoo Wrasse another FIRST for me. The fishing didn't get much better just got a few more Dogs and a Sea Scorpion.

Nice fishing, well done on your first codling. I think that wrasse might be a ballan. They do vary in colour a bit.

the wrasse is a male corkwing
species for 2009 (42)
species for 2010 (27)
species for 2011 (12)
species for 2012 (8)
best advice for catching species is girls dont like fishing and its hard to catch fish when you sell all your gear'
