Basically ive heard some good reports of fishing at Orlock, and was wanting to know what are the best tactics for this time of year?

Ive been fishing alround the place around the Down area but never ventured to Orlock basically not knowing what the ground is like either ill be losing every rig i throw at it or i have to use a float (rather be catching than losing gear  )

try and get to your fishing mark at low tide, that way you could get a fair idea of the ground you will be fishing into. failing that, locals of that area would help you out, and i'm sure there is a few people on site that would be able to give you some information on that area!!
as ole rab c said " see me' see the sea' i love the sea me"
right i'am off for a swally!!!!!!! so were's the F***'n purse!!!!!!!

orlock is snaggy for 100plus yards and you will lose gear unless you go for rough ground tactics.its not a great fishing spot anyway, small wrasse, pollack etc.dont fish here in the middle of summer as you will get tortured by mackie bashers

Orlock is only any good for bashing a few macks, or some float fihing if the mackie bashers give you room.
i have tried on several occasions to fish the bottom and only ever got a dog or 2.. never lost much gear though.
