Measuring board??

At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

Measuring board??

#1 Post by Bradan »

Anyone know where to get hold of a good one? I'm looking to buy a good number for a fishing club (freshwater, but same principle applies), up to 50/60cm, for trout.
Do any online tackle suppliers do them?? Or any tackle shops?
Its called fishing, not catching. If it was called catching it wouldn't be fishing!

I have the Ian Golds measure and it seems to be the standard. However its a bit on the long side and is a bugger to fit in a full Shakespeare Beta box. I spotted a Rapala folding measure in the local tackle shop in Cork. It's half the size for around the 10 euro mark. It would be the one I'd go for if I had a choice again. I'm sure you'll find them online somewhere.

Keep an eye on ebay, you get them there fairly often although they are usually sold in singles.

Give the codfather of L&G tackle (graham) a pm, I'm sure he could get them in the numbers you are looking and he's very easy to pay also. He's one of the good guys.. If he can't supply them he will surely know where you will get them.

(Resurrecting an older post here...)

Has anyone come across the Rapala foldable measure recently in any local (i.e. Irish) tackle shops, mail order or otherwise :?:

Despite recent searches on the net, ebay, mail order stores, etc. I haven't come across 'em. :?
