Portnoo Rocks - May 2nd

#1 Post by pete »

Fished these for first time and took five pollock up to 3lbs. Lads with me got doggies, conger (small), a mackerel and a couple of wrasse one of which took a spinner intended for pollock. Standard rough ground fishing. Bites tailed away as the tide dropped, very snaggy ground. Plenty of grey seals knocking about and seen an otter as were packing gear away.

Good stuff Pete. What bait were you using?

Any idea's on how Culdaff is fishing? Taking a run up on either Saturday or Sunday.

Shamrock,
Took all the pollock spinning. Squid/Sandeel cocktails accounted for other species. Don't know how Culdaff is fishing at the moment, coalies and dogs I'd say along with some seatrout. Odd plaice should be starting to show by now. Try sending Scara a PM he fishes up there all the time.
