red bay 30/04/05

fished around red bay and up to fair head on saturday ,done a few drifts over sand banks and picked up a couple of codling 1lb region ,no flatties at all !!
We then tried a move to garron point towards the salmon cages ,nothing here at all so went out to the deep water and tried pirking for a while and had a few more codling and whiting ,deacided to head up to torr head and done a few drifts over the reef heading out from the head before the tide beat us ,had one reasonable pollack 3-4lb mark .
went to fair head and tried a couple of drifts inshore close to were i fish from the rocks (didn't realise it was as deep so close to the shore ,120ft 50m from shore ) tide was just to strong at 3knots and was getting a bit dodgy with a standing wave starting to form near the end of our drift !!
not a great day ,but good to get out boat fishing again after scratching around all winter .
