#1 Post by jfkireland »

Fished Portrane for bass both evenings, 1700 - 2145. Dusk and HW matching. Blank!!
Lures used:
Yo Zuri: Crystal Minnows, ZZ Poppers, Banana Boats, Mag Poppers and Mag Darters.
Rapala: Skitterpops and Jointed Thundersticks
25g Tobis, 18g Tobis, 18g Jensons, 40g Tobis, Mepps 7g.

Perfect conditions for bass, not a thing. It may be still a bit early

fished from the rocks just south of the martello tower (portrane) on saturday with fresh mackeral and sandeel, not a bite I was even happy to see the odd crab !! Then tried the german sprat for a while and nothing still - why does is the sea seem such a barren crab ridden wasteland !! grrrr

beautiful spot though :D

Hi Wes,
I was up from the mobile home park across from Rush Sailing Club.
I have never seen a spot look so bassy...
Still no mullet though
