#1 Post by marshpike »

People: Me and a couple of mates

Duration: 2.5hrs

Tide: High

Weather: sublime

Bait: Lug and Herring

Rigs: 3 hook flapper

Results: Dabs, dabs and more dabs

Report: If your looking to increase your species tally then Newcastle Pier (co.down) is the place to land a few dabs they are there in plague porportions, if you haven't had a bite with in 2minutes you've already missed it. Shame no flounder showed up though...

nice fishing man!!, might take a race up at the weekend. when you say pier, are you talking about the new promanade or the wee harbour thats below the police station?

The harbour just past the wee police station, I just jumped down on to the rocks at the corner of the pier and cast towards St john's point, lug worm wasn't lasting two minutes with herring following closely behind.

Wouldn't mind trying it after dark, it could throw up a few surprises.
