Bass 27-04-08

#1 Post by Danny M. »

People:Myself, Carpets & Pat

Duration:5 hours

Tide:Rising

Weather:moderate s/w / rain

Bait:Lug,

Rigs:Pennel Pulleys

Results: 7 Bass 1 Flounder
Myself 3 Bass (biggest 22inches) 1 Flounder 29cm
Carpets 1 Bass on the limit.
Pat 3 Bass (biggest just over 23inches)

All fish were returned alive except one , Pat kept one for the table.

Report: After the bait was dug we headed to the mark (red rooster at the ready ! :D )First couple of hours of the session passed with out incident. Pat was the first into a fish, a lovely Bass caught while it was still bright (Pat had been standing in the surf when he saw the bite , he went for the rod but couldnt move !!! he had sunk down past his ankles in the sand . The swearing out of him was something out of a john cleese film. I thought he was having a heart attack ). I followed suit just after dark with a schoolie.

An hour passed before Pat landed another , 23 inches of pure fighting machine, he gave a great scrap up and down the beach.
I landed a 22 inch silver bar within minutes of Pat landing his...the feed was on . Carpets then leaned into a fine schoolie right on the limit.
A few more followed soon after before it fell quite and they moved off.

Again we missed countless aggressive bites, and lost a few in the fight too during the session.

Happy Days.

Hi Danny
What direction of wind is best for fishing I am headin down the weekend and I hope to get a spot of bass fishing done. I know the wind is forecast from the south east on saturday, is that any good.

Art,

I just got a watch over from the states that gives you the stages off the moon ( you have to enter in youir local co-ordinates lat and long) and then tells you the best times to fish...will be testing it this weekend! Nice watch too! there is a whole article in the watch`s instruction on when the best fishing times are at different stages of the moon!!

Art, it will probably be as flat as a pancake Sunday Night what would you recommend, beach fishing, plugging, or rock fishing with crab?
