Hobie Kayaks in Dublin

#1 Post by Donogh »

I'm told that the dealer for Hobie Fishing Kayaks (Munster Marine) will be at the Malahide Boat Show this weekend. Hobies are the yaks with this really remarkable pedal system for hands-free fishin', as well as a paddle. I think they're worth a look. And no, I don't work for them, sell them, or promote - it's just that I've just bought one, and I'm taking delivery of it next weekend, so I'm a bit of a fan. Detailed sea-trial reports later.

They look lovely but a bit expensive.

Bleedin right they're expensive, but i figured since kayak fishin is cheap as against any other sort of boat-fishin, maybe it would be worth it. Have just taken mine out for one spin since I got it, and it feels great. I'm really curious to know how the mirage drive pedal system does v paddling. They say the Hobie is much faster, but I'll need the evidence of my own eyes.
