Malahide Boat show

#1 Post by Stan »

Went today. 2 hours to cross city. Arrived at show and was directed to a guy at carpark beside marina. He told me that the best chance was to go up town and look for parking there. This was the last thing that I needed and went off cursing.

After spending 15 minutes looking for parking I walked back to the show.....another 10 minutes. I complained to the lady on the way in about the lack of parking. She said that it was sign posted and that I should have seen it on the way in Portmarnock. ....problem is that I did not come from that direction. She explained that there was a car park with a shuttle bus to it but said that as it was quiet that she thought that he had packed in. It was just 5.45pm!!! I wondered how those at the show were supposed to get back to the carpark. She said that I should complain to the organisers.

There were some lovely boats on the marina. Most were really for those with big bucks.....just bought a lotto!!!!!!!

Would I go again....... not in a million years. It is disgraceful that the organisers could not sort out or at least signpost the parking properly. I saw the man at the marina getting abuse from others that arrived after me. He obviously gave them the same instructions.

I was talking to one of the exhibitors and voiced my opinion to him about this matter. He said that he had the same problem getting and that the organization was a bit of a shambles.
