which Clogherhead, is that the one in Louth?

Hush , the slip in Clogherhead, Co.Louth is open again. But beware there is a thick covering of slippy green weed on it , from the HW mark down. I've rang the council about cleaning it up but don't hold your breath.

I've tried pouring aldi bleach on it at LW the last time it was in a state, it had very little effect only changed the weeds colour

If anybody has any tips on non-back breaking methods for clearing green slimey weed off slipways, please let me know.

some of the lads had the same problem: slimey slippy slipway, council not responding. so they had a word with a local council worker and he got them the stuff which they spray on themselves. I'll ask them what it's called.

The stuff you want is Sodium HypoChlorite 10/11% from the Albion Chemical Co, Leeds, UK tel 0044 113 2505011

Dilute it 4:1 and spray in on.

As usual, it's important to realise that I have no experience or qualifications in this, so treat every chemical with caution and follow the manufacturer's instructions/usual safe practices.

Prob best to put a call into the Eastern Regional fisheries Board ask them the best way to do it...any volunteers?

Thanks Tanglerat. If I don't see action from the council, I'll get a few lads to chip in for a drum of that stuff. Compared to some of the effluent that gets pumped into the harbour here it's probably fairly harmless.
