Hi All
I'm finally going to do it. I've been charter boat fishing and shore angling for a few years and am in the lucky position to be able to get a boat with a mate. What in everyone's opinion would be a good entry level boat/engine/trailer ?
Also should I be looking at going to Britain for better value with sterling the was it is at the minute?
Thanks all.

€12k should buy you plenty of Boat. You should be able to take you pick of the 16 foot market from one year old onwards, depending on the Model. The warriors are the more expensive end. They tend to have a few more mod cons, but many feel that they are over valued, especially in the second hand market. I looked very hard at the Warrior, but decided on the Raider 16. I got it new for what some people are looking for a 3 year old warrior. Personally I would be pointing you towards a Predator 165 or a Raider 16 as with your budget you will be able to get a newer set-up and hopefully you will be getting a boat and engine with a lot less wear for you cash. A lot of people love their warriors and they are a fine boat, but they are the top end of the market.

Yeah, it's a bit like saying "I've got 12 grand, what kind of car can I buy?"
Try before you buy is good advice. The membership on here is bound to have every kind of boat you're realistically going to be interested in, see if you can blag runs out in them before you make up your mind.
Now, who's going to offer alan a spin?
