The Marco Whittle Power Memorial Competition to be fished in the Waterford Harbour area on Sun 4th May

Some of the Prizes

TEN HOLIDAYS to the West Africa Shore Festival in Gambia

Full details next week hope to see you all for this worthy cause.

Any further details as to times and if its an open , any bait restrictions etc

This one sounds interesting - would nt mind a trip to Gambia :D :D

For anybody interested for fishing or hearing about the Marco Whittle Power Memorial competition we will be talking about it on 104 fm Sat 5th April 2008 at 10.00am.
The lads are away fishing in Gambia will be back weekend of the 11th April.
It will be the biggest fishing competition the country has ever seen. Hope you all can take part. :lol:

Talking to John O'Brien this evening and entries have exceeded all expectations for Marko's Competition. Closing date is now Monday next April 21st with no exceptions. You have until then to get your name AND MONEY to him.

Final arrangements for the competition courtesy of John O'Brien are: Fishing 1.30pm - 5.30pm. Check in from 10 - 12 noon at the Strand Hotel Dunmore East. Fishing at Passage East 2 Zones, and Woodstown 1 Zone. Optional Pool €10- Divided 50% Longest Round/50% Longest Flat. Return cards to the Strand Hotel after the competition where prize giving will take place. For further details contact John @ 0872235270

Hi John,

local rod Ray lannigan was the overall winner, Ray also had a tie for longest fish in his zone. Nice days work. Alan Mulcahy featured too in his zone, 2nd i think, Kieran Begadon also had a zone prize, 1st or 2nd.
Weldone to Alby for his longest flat in his zone, keepin the SAI flag flying, I was with Boycie and JP on a big fat blank! Great day though, I believe they hope to make it an annual comp, hope so, it was great to see such a big turn out. Alot of money was raised.


Not 100% on the exact results as I didn't know all the winners.

Great turn out 140 + anglers, over 40 past and present International's too.

I think approx 200 fish measured, that's the only consolation I can take for the Blank!

Big weldone to all involved in the running of the comp!

fare play to boycie he is good sport,had only 1 fish in ,
had 4 under size fish in the first 5 casts :twisted:
had to say really injoyed the day
well done to john o brien ,richie and all others involved
very well organised comp
hope we will be there again next year
