Ring of Kerry 1st week in April

#1 Post by esmurphy »

Hello everyone,

My brother and I are coming over to Waterville in Kerry for the first week of April. We hope to get a good bit of shore fishing in, as well as a few other activities.

I was wondering if anybody could point me in the right direction for some good fishing marks in the area? We will have a car so will be able to travel a bit if required. Also, what would we be targeting over there and what bait would you recommend?

We're quite new to shore angling (three trips but only 1 keeper between us!) so any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,
Stephen

Hi Stephen,

Bob Moss's books mainly deal with the Dingle Peninsula, whereas waterville is on the tip of the iveragh peninsula. Still a good read all the same. The best person for info is Kevin Brain, he offers a guiding service down there. His website is http://www.kbfishingireland.com. If anyone will get you into a few decent fish Kevin will.

have a look at these, use the names to search the forums and if necessary drop me a PM. Very nice part of the world...

Hi,

Speak to Kevin Brain of KB Atlantic Baits. He lives and works in waterville and acts as a guide for about £100 per day. I have booked him for one day in Aug. He will sort you out.
