I did look at a Crest, But the guy I get my stuff from advised me the C3 was a better choice for the areas I fish, BUT I still like the Crest and maybe will pick one up soon, If any of them are anything like the C3 then they will be the best you have ever used!! The Kompressor and WR300 are overkill most of the time unless your in really rough ground or field casting...So Im told anyway.

I have had a few casts with a Crest on the field and it feels similar in action to the C3 but MUCH more powerful. It would make a good heavy ground/big bait rod but certainly too much for general purpose beach angling.

i fish with a CM Crest, best rod i came across, wouldnt swap for anything else, strong wind doesnt have any effect on the tip at all-shows the baits no prob, love to cast with it and as for pulling out-all the power from the tip travels down were your hands are so even then you holding rod upright and puling hard -you dont feel preasure at all (im not sure ,but i think thats what the "gearbox" does) i even wouldn give that rod -heavy ground title its more mixed 10 outa 10 from me..
