People:Me

Duration:4 hours 22.30 to 02.30

Tide:high at around 00.25

Weather:Blowing a gale with intermittent rain

Bait:Lug, maddies, Squid and Razor

Rigs:lots

Results:3 coalie to 1.5 lb and a few 5 bearded rockling

Report:Headed to Fitzgerald's strand for 10 pm and on getting out of the car I was blown about with the wind. It would be straight in my face on the beach so a quick move to lady's slip was called for.

5 other lads fishing on the slip. Think 1 lad had a rockling as i got there. They all gave up after an hour or so due to the lack of fish and the weather. got a lot of bait from them as they left. Thanks

Was very slow with all the coalie and a few missed ones at distance.
All rockling within 40 to 50 yards.

Poor fishing but nice to get out after a couple of months without fishing from the shore.

Forgot to say, The biggest coalie i got had a 2/0 hook in the start of his stomach with about 30 inches of heavy nylon being dragged along behind him and still gave the best bite of the session. goes to show that if a fish is deep hooked you are better of to cut the line close to the hook rather than try to get it out.

Well Kev. Haven't been on for a few days.
How are you getting on with the boat? Get her wet yet?
I have been out a good bit in the boat with limited success but must start hunting a few bass soon.
I will keep you posted. If ye come down Ally is not allowed fish till I have one :D

He did it aging on the weekend. Was Salmon fishing in the Drowes. I've been trying on and off for 8 years to get a springer, Ally rocks up... first weekend, first time salmon fishing & he lands a 9lb 8oz Salmon
