disaster struck last weekend bust the old faithfull flat tiened, reach any black at any depth,fork,,,,, :? :?
the problem i have i cannot get one any where in ireland ,,certainly down here in wexford
can any one help :shock:

can you not use a normal fork, have one from the old trusty local garden centre, got my friend workin with steel to smooth of each prong

b&q do a wilkinson sword fork.(black and grey). it has fairly flat tines, i use it and am happy with it. 40e i think. maye there is a b&q near wexford.

I know the fork you mean, it's 1 of those Mythical Flat Tined ones that you can't get here in Ireland! They don't exist! I gave up looking years ago, I'm taking Alan Yates's if I ever meet him cause he always said you need one! Then again the standard fork I use has never left me down, if it's a hole for worms I need to dig it does the job, never tried it for the spuds though! :D

graham i know exactly what your looking for and where i might be able to get one they had them the last time i looked around 40euro.
flat tined with a D handle similar to the bulldog flat tined but with a metal handle. heading to wexford town for Saturday.
but have a confirmation on Friday.
so only chance i might get is tomorrow to have a look if i am passing the shop which is about 20 miles from me if i can i will.

hi boycie it had 4 prongs, used to use the trident forks on the East coast of england great for the blacks,,also used what we called a grafter,a long 18 to24inch narrow spade no more than 6 inches wide,,both methods are better than pumping if you require to keep the worms alive,,anyhow thanks for all the help and offers about the fork to all the lads on the site i have got a beaut on order from a place in ,,of all places Dublin,,thanks againboycie89 wrote:hey graham , how many prongs did your potato fork have 3 or 4 ??? i have got a 3 pronged one !! its the best thing iv ever used for gettin blacks !!
