lads i just received a second hand reel and want to give the ouside a good clean whats the best for doing this and with a cloth or old toothbrush? any advice would be grateful . not sure whether to us soapy water or not either.

nothing like a spray of WD40 and a house hold dusting cloth the yellow type should bring it up like new.
you will be looking at yourself in it before long :wink: :lol: :lol:

not sure bout soap the emulsifying agents in soap could disolve grease&oil inside the reel if it gets in, then youd have to open it up and re-oil everything...dismantle the reel and give it a good going over with a damp cloth....

Give it a good squirt of lighter petrol and oil using rocket fuel. :D
