looking for some new sea trout marks in strangford for a bit of fly fishing . :wink: if anyone would like to provide such imformation that would be great :lol:

Try the stream at the Care Home outside Portaferry towards the Bar Mouth. Don't forget your license (to fish for sea trout) and blue tags if you intend retaining any. All the sea trout anglers I meet in Strangford are 100% catch and release,now can you believe that? :roll:

You might also want to check with the Loughs Agency when the closed season finishes...

cheers for the replys lads.

i have been fishing there the last couple of years but the average size of fish is on the small side.might just get the kayak out and go looking for them.
tried to get on the loughs agency site to check when the close season finishes but couldnt seem to find it :oops: .i always thought the season started on 1st march :?:

it depends on the area, there are some places that start as late as 20th march. so be sure to check first :wink:

Think it's 1st March-31st October. If you have a kayak try the islands around Ringhaddy and Whiterock, particularly where a couple of small rivers enter the Lough.
