handy setup
this is a handy setup to find what level the fish are feeding at. slide on a clear bubble float with your snood tied to the other eye of the float, then tie on the grip lead, tie on a stop knot ( say your fishing in 30 feet of water ) at around 6 feet from your weight, if not getting anything then slide the knot up to app; 12 feet and so on, have a bead between eye of float and stop knot. what ever depth you set your knot at, the bubble and bait will rise to that level. have found this handy off piers and rocks/also stops the crabs swipeing your bait

Would you not tend to miss alot of fish due to the fact you couldnt properly strike into them.Or would this be set up with a circle hook ?

hi jonny, with this set up i would usually use sandeel as bait, threaded on with baiting needle and looped off with a treble hook, nine times out of ten they hook up themselves, so you wont need to strike...

I think I'd rather use a standard float rig for anything over 6-8 feet off the bottom. but maybe thats just me :D
