People:me
Duration:8-10pm
Tide:low
Weather:calm,clear,cool(ish)
Bait:leftover from weekend, lug ,squid and re ,and re, and re frozen mack
Rigs:shop bought 3 hook flapper
Results:8 whiting
Report:Rang Big Mick but he was getting doors or something so went to bray on my own to use up leftover bait from ennereilly. Very exciting reversing down pier past cars , bicycles etc, People are very obliging :) . Set up and within minutes the whiting were tugging away at the bait. Had one every cast and finished up with a double . Caught 8 altogether and kept 3 for the pan. I was delighted as the trip to ennerilly only produced 2 small whiting. The shop bought rig had very small hooks which i found awkward to bait up . The whiting i kept were deeply hooked. The hook points were turned slightly inwards and i kept missing the point with the worms (no smart comments please  ) I bought a baiting needle but i think its easier to put the worms on without it. Had a good yap with another angler and his son ( billy?) about fishing, all in all a good way to pass a couple of hours ( when I think of all the nights i spent in front of the telly  ). Hope i'm not boring yis with tales of me catching whiting in Bray Harbour but this is a handy way of recording my trips  .

8 whiting on a week night after a two hour session is great in my book - they didnt look like pins either - happy days - not boring at all - better than me reporting all the blanks

bray and dublin seem to be producing better than wicklow at the moment saying that arklow is ok and wicklow peir not bad either the beaches just seem to have very few fish ,compared to this time last year when codling seemed sooooo easy to catch with a few lug and a 30 yard lob :cry:ah well it,s not too late for a run ,all this fine weather wont be helping matters lets hope the easterly will start blowing hard soon :?

Thats right John, they were mostly of a bigger size than lately, though it was the lug that attracted them , i think. I was going to Greystones but I think i made the right choice with Bray  . Havent blanked yet, touch wood, so I wont complain about the whiting, but I would like some new species. Headlight from Woodies is the business, by the way, also were selling batteries at half price, so thanks again. I would have bought a more expensive one probably if I hadnt met yourself and Harry.
