sea fishing bait.

i was given some bait today by someone who was pumping for lug wormes.he pumpt this aswell about 20.i was tolld by him that it is very good bait.does anyone knows what is called just by looking the photo and if it is good to use for beach casting anytime or just sometime of the year.cheers.

there razor mate shell em and use elastic thread,,,,,, great bait

freeze if you aint using them for a while

razorfish, can be a good bait depending on where your fishing. you keep the fleshy leg inside and throw away the rest. can be used whole for cod,bass etc or for tipping off worm baits. often best fished after a good blow. leave to go off a bit for best results.

hi. i am going beach casting tomorrow morning.i was told cod is been very successful on squid there. i got some today but they did not have the little ones only had the big ones about 5 inches head to tail.do i use a full one with the head on or do i cut the head off and only use the rest.sorry for the stupid questions but i am new to sea fishing.any tips very much appreciate it.

Webbyweb where are you located? I suggest that you find out what you nearest local club is and join it or at least go along and see how they do it. This is the best advice I can give any newbie. You will learn alot in a small space of time this way.

I wouldn't think squid on its own would not be the best of cod baits from the shore but this is how I might rig it up. Mount the squid on a 3/0 pennel rig passing the bottom hook through the squid twice. With the hook passing through the eyes on the second passing, then pass the top hook in an inch from the top of the squid.
