ok lads off you go
Open to everybody.
Post a pic of your fish with where,when and how you caught it and any other details you like.
Fish must be identifiable.
The picture must include an identifiable part of the boat.

Do not post saying pic to follow- i will delete the post.
Only fish caught in 2008 in/off Ireland count.

First pic posted of a species counts gets 15 points for the person.

Yes - Blennies,Goldsinny wrasse, Sea trout caught in the sea count.

Next (different) person posting a pic of that species gets 10 points

3rd person gets 5

Person with most points wins (as of Jan 1 2009) .


You must reply below attaching your pic to enter.

Only those who have registered on the site on or before Jan 1st 2008 can enter.

please discuss about a fish in the species hunt in a separate thread in "Site Species' Hunts and Competitions" forum
any discussion about a fish will be moved to a separate thread to keep this thread manageable..

final say on any fish will be by eric and stevecrow74..

might as well kick start this one .
Got this doggie and a coalie last weekend on the north coast ,near ballycastle
,doggie took mackerel on running ledger and coalie was on feathers whilst trying for skate baits .

cork trip 27th jan screeming reels

hi, managed to bag seven on trip to cork today,
pollock , jelly worm gilling
poor cod, shrimp rig , mackerel bait
whiting, shrimp rig, mack bait
ballan wrasse, 2 hook rig, with crab bait
cuckoo wrasse, shrimp rig with mack bait
ling, t bar with mackerel bait
Lesser spotted dogfish, following trace baited with mackerel

hi lads,went to cork also sunday 27/01/08,but only managed two spiecies,whiting on baited feathers,and ling on squid,boat name shock-waves,regards,dezzer...........

spurdog ,pollack ,dab all taken of the antrim coast today ,spurdog was on sardine fished on a flowing trace ,the pollack and dab were on baited shrimp rig whilst scratching around out of the main run of tide .

hi,
managed a trip to dunmore east today , despite lovely conditions the sea was still lumpy.
Managed four new species
Dab t bar mackerel
Cod sabiki rig unbaited
Pouting sabiki rig baited
and wait for it
MACKEREL !!!!!!! same sabiki rig size 16 hooks unbaited
yes five joey meckerel
saw gannets feeding went and tried and mid water , bang joeys, makes me wonder if they are resident all year round now

poult got to day in my own boat out with coaster.caught on baited shrimp rigs(mackerel,and new bait look close over a wreck off tramore :lol: )

out today, was pretty tough fishing, poss due to east wind, but managed to knock up a couple more
Conger, pirk with mackerel flapper, ( did have a much bigger one, but it didnt want to stay on the bait table!)

hi,
managed these two new species today,
Flounder, t bar with fresh peeler ( just noticed when posting that i forgot to put in the hook out in the picture, had a witness , dezzer , shock waves if there is a problem, thanks)


5 bearded rockling, t bar, lug and squid .
lovely day out in great weather, also had lots of nice dab, and plenty of anying pin whiting

hi,
had a trip out with dezzer today, weather was fantastic, fishing was'nt to bad either,
three new ones to add,
lesser weaver, shrimp ric, mack bait
plaice, t -bar with bling, and mack strip
starry smoothound, flowing trace , mack strip
overall we had 12 species, and plenty of fresh joey mackerel for bait!
