Where to fish In waterford the weekend

#1 Post by Tipp Angler »

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can give me some pointers on where to head for a spot of sea fishing the weekend. I was originally going to head towards the ferry point near youghal, or whiting bay. I have only fished down this way once before off the pier at helvick.

I would be fishing for whiting, bass, cod etc but have little beach experience can anyone recommend somewhere?

much appreciated

You might be plagued with weed in Whiting Bay. The best is to have a quick look and if it appears to be weedy go elsewhere. It can be good for lots of coalies at this time of year but I have never caught a bass there this late in the season.
You might do better over at Youghal.

If fishing Ferrypoint you will need crab.

Ballyquin might be worth a try also.

Let us know how you get on.

It would also be worth your while talking to the master angler himself>>>>>>>> CORTAZ!!! If he cannot guide you in the right direction nobody can.

best advice for catching species is girls dont like fishing and its hard to catch fish when you sell all your gear'

Thanks for the tips so far, nothing like a nice cold snap before you go.

Ballycotton is a bit further than I planned to travel, guess Youghal would be the furthest. I am going to head early and try and get some crab alright anyone fished the other way the likes of ardmore or Ballyquinn??
