People:Me and the brother.

Duration:13:00 until 00:00

Tide:Arrived on the ebb, fished back until about an hour before high tide.

Weather:Fair for the time of year, a bit misty later.

Bait:Peeler, lug, mussel, razor, squid, wraps, maddies, mackerel.

Rigs:Paternosters and three hooked flappers

Results:1*Shore Rockling,1*dogfish, 1*flounder(I think), about 20*pin whiting, 1*whiting to about a pound, a few coalies.

Report:We arrived just as it was on the turn from high tide, nothing fished in daylight at all although I had a few knocks on the distance rod with the big baits but nothing on the scratching rod with the smaller hooked flapper on. Brother was only fishing one rod with flapper on in close as he's new to it.
The brother opened the account with a rockling, then once they came on the feed at low tide it was whiting thick and fast, taking in triple hits and double hits regularly, they were mostly taking mack and worms, the crab wasn't really a hit here today. I had nothing decent on the distance rod, the best fish came in close which was a nice whiting to the brother.
It was a good session in all, kept his interest as a first timer and hopefully gave him the bug.
I took one that I think was a flounder, on the bottom hook on maddies, I'd appreciate if someone could confirm, the lateral line was rough which made me think flounder.

An interesting point, I think we brought the fish on the feed using glow beeds, nothing much was happening, so I decided to break out the glow and float traces to see if a bit more bling would do it, that definitely appears to be what brought the hordes of whiting on the feed.
Traces without beads were not as successful.

It was all lug, maddies and mackerel that were catching, razor was not completely unsuccessful. I had one or two whiting on crab baits that were almost as big as themselves, otherwise hardly a knock on crab.
