Report:First time to get out 08 ,decided to go to pier to see what it might throw up weather was dire to say the least very wet and wind blowing right in the face, but for all that it was unusally mild, bites were very hard to see with the wind howling but all fish had the manners to impale themselfs without any help from me, all lip hooked no gut busters here, they were returned to fight nanother day, expected more action but suppose with the mildness whiting didnt play ball ,much like arsenal earlier in the night  anyway still good to break the duck and looking forward to a good years fishing P.S Havn,t been to the pier in a while but thing still the same ,beer cans bottles plastic bags ammo plastic wrappers endless crap. the pier is an amenity enjoyed by all ,anglers walkers tourists and locals and also workers I wouldn,t take to kindly to strangers dumping crap in my work place, would you?The fingerwill be pointed at anglers and we all will be tarred with the same brush no matter how tidy you are. PICK IT UP YOU LAZY GITS

gota agree, fished end of pier sat evening fromthe shelter of that shed gaff and the place was covered in old line and bait wraping. considering the end of the pier was closed of for so long cause of the ship and the fact that bait wrapers are likely to blow away,is it valid to propose the theory that it is the people forom the liebher ships making a mess???

fenit pier
letting it blow away is not the answer It should not be there in the first place .We anglers have to stand up and be counted .turning the blind eye wont help.A few well placed bins might help .Well said Liam-port

Don,t know about that Hugh, but i dont think its valid, the main viaduct is much the same after most weekends ship in or not, alot of piers abroad are pay per day anglers are given a number matching the same on the pier thus they can be traced by name ,,and no, time etc restrictions could come here, people will only tolerate so much. Iknow most anglers are well savvy and clean up its only a few who need a kick in the arse

nothing more annoying than dirty anglers lets face it litter louts go fishing same as they walk down our streets and litter, the difference is they wouldnt close a footpath due to littering but they will ban fishing on a peir  the sad thing is the litter louts would be moaning forever and a day if the fishing was stopped where as you or me would admitt this is sometimes the only option sad as it is
