Used them from the boat. Had one hook with bluey and others with Mack and Lug. Didn't catch anything on it but did notice the bluey bait was always taken....

Ive used it a couple of times as a tipping bait and on its own and caught fish with both, I think its a good alternative to mackeral as it has very firm flesh keeps well and its dead oily....

Have used them several times and have caught but I still prefer Mackerel. Its easier to get a good strip of mack and it is easier to keep on the hook.

i dont think they are anything too special, i think the one time they may have an advantage is when fish are feeding on herring or sprats as the bluey flesh could be the best substitute. assuming you dont have fresh herring.

if i had to pick one it would be mac every time

Have used it 3 times. Have caught a couple of dogs and thats it. I think it is useless as a tipping bait as the flesh wasn't firm at all (unlike the previous posters comments). Now that might be down to how it was kept. Personally I'd say it was about on a par with mackerel for conger and dogs and given that you're paying a premium I'd stick with Mackerel.
