definately, amazing how they take the bait, appear in an amount of stress, spit the bait/hook and then come back and take it again..

Good find Neil. To me it shows why circle hooks work so well and what Steve recons is spot on too.

When did you change your name Ian    I'm getting to old for this

i especially like the part where one cod witness another struggling to get off a hook for 30 seconds, and when it does it dives straight for the hook no questions

compare the number of fish to the number of hook ups/ bites.

if there were 1000 fish in that vid even if 100 were hooked thats only a 10% catch rate.

on your local beach where there may be a dozen or so fish a 10% catch rate would mean that you get 1 (1.2 if you wanna be pedantic) fish a session if your lucky. even if fluro only gave you an extra 1 or 2% i would still use it.

an awful lot of fish in that video just swam straight passed the bait and the number of hook ups to bites i thought was quite low.

loved the bit on the 8 min mark where he starts petting the cod

good to see how they take a bait from an underwater view.. i would have been under the impresion if one cod appeared stressed and struggling the others would flee but obviously not.. very interesting video

i think that they are attracted by the irregular movement of the hooked fish, probably think that he is feeding on something

personally if it was me i would rather put my money in to a better quality bait because that seems to be the problem.
nothing to do with thick visible line

Same thoughts as me.....IMO a good bait would have made all the difference to what we seen getting hooked in the video

this one shows how the hooks are baited and pretty much the process of longlining

its a rather amusing irony, fluorocarbon is for catching fishermen not fish!
