Crabrock

#1 Post by Hake »

Does anyone have up to date info on Crabrock ?

I placed an internet order on 29th Dec. In my account, the order status shows as "pending", so its not been dealt with yet. Tried calling them yesterday, but the phone line (number as per website) was dead.

Getting a bit worried now :(

Thanks for any light that you can shed.

Just clicked onto the website and it said " Gone Fishing , Back Soon". I presume he might be on holiday. I have not heard anything but good things about Crabrock.

Maybe someone else can shed a bit of light on this.

Thanks John.

As you say, it says "gone fishing, back soon" on http://www.crabrock.com.

However, if you google "crabrock" you also get another link that takes you to the online store. That's where I went and was able to place the order.

Unfortunately "gone fishing, back soon" doesn't give me any indication as to when I'll get the stuff I ordered :(

Also, dead phone line is a bit worrying...no ring tone or voicemail message. Unless the number on the website is wrong ?

Just had a quick look there, you are right, the main screen has the message "gone fishin" but yes, you can get into the shop by following another route, bypassing the home page.

It looks, to be honest as if the chap is on hols and you found your way into the site by accident. The lack of a tone on the mobile merely suggests its switched off and Message minder isn't activated thats all. If I was on Hols, my moby would be off as well!

I have dealt with Crabrock on numerous occasions and have found them to be top notch from a customer service view point by all accounts, even compared with any of the big UK guys, the vast majority on here who have used them in the past will bear this out too. I am sure there is an innocent explanation for this, It is I presume a one man operation so I suppose these things can happen. Don't read too much into it, I am sure he'll get you sorted out as soon as is possible.

You are right Pete. He is in China.

Brian from Crabrock contacted me by email a while ago and explained that he is in China sourcing new products. He didn't realise (until now) that the shop was still accessible, ie that his "gone fishin" note could be bypassed.

So to anyone who reads my initial post, it seems that there is no cause for concern. Hopefully Brian will return with more stuff for the rest of us to spend our money on. :D
