Fished the coal dock on Sat evening - not too much happening

No Codling though

Might have something to do with the crab pots all over the harbour

Cod

#6 Post by TonyMc »

Hi all,

I was on the opposite side of Ferry point on the pier by Moby Dicks Thursday night (3rd Jan) and had a 4 & 5 lb Cod on Frozen Black Lug tipped with Squid. Dropped another 2 also. I went again Sat night for 6 hours and didnt even get a bite. 4 trips to Ferry point before this saw no Cod only Coalies and Flounders.

Hope theyll be in soon!!!

Youghal Beach

Fished a comp on Sat night with the Bass Club, (I am sure Thomas will report on it). The fishing was patchy to say the least but one very decent cod was caught. Loads of starfish and razor shells washed up on the middle of the beach, it didn't seem to spur the fish into any feeding frenzy.
