Report:Arrived at Bray at 8-45 as tide started to drop. Another angler told me that he had caught some ling, whiting and dogs but that it was falling off . Just what i wanted to hear on my first outing of 08 :( . I had come out to chill out, but panicked when I opened the boot and realised that i had left my warm windproof and waterproof coat (with my gloves in the pocket), at home in the rush to get out  . Luckily I had my wooly hat and it was mild enough at first. I ended up wearing my wifes jacket that was in the back of the car  . I had brought 2 rods but decided to fish with one as i'm always missing bites on one when holding the other. I got some bites but couldnt connect. Everything seemed right , I looked the part but no fish  . The other guy caught another doggie , was this going to be my 4th blank in a row ?. I was dying to ask him lots of questions, ( how to put on the bait etc) , but didnt want to bother him too much. He left at 10 and I still had nothing, then I felt a tug and landed a doggie and the pressure was off  . Happy days!!. The wind started to pick up now and it was getting colder but I didnt care , then another two doggies and a whiting, all on squid and mackerel cocktail. I got plenty of bites, probably from pin whiting but I think my hooks could have been too big, size 2/0 ( well thats what the other guy told me!!!) not a bad start to 2008. Ps I also learned from a passerby that you could see Mars in the sky! . Dave
