rod holdall

Hello :D
Looking to get a new rod bag and have my eye on the shakespeare SALT or Ian Golds one, or even one in argos (though, as always, open to other suggestions).
Anyway, just wondering if ye know a shop in Dublin or Cork which stocks the SALT. Viking in Bray have the SALT quiver but at 4'8" I feel it's too short.
Will be down in Cork city at the end of next week so would be handy if somebody here knows whether they have any in stock. Am a bit hesitent about going the mail order root with the usual postal chaos at this time of year.

Viking and Southside both have the Ian Golds rod carriers....they are far better than the others because of the long zip, that lets you place your rods inside without fear of breaking guides. The Golds one is 60" long and fully padded right through the full length, it also has a drain hole in the bottom to let the sand or water out.

The Golds rod carriers also come in two sizes, the large will take a beach buddy and at least 4 rods, the rod stand straps to the outside.

Popped back into viking today, the ian golds was sold out but they had another one in there which seemed suitable so decided to go with it. No big brand or much padding but a good size (a tad under 6') and with a zip. Maybe would have been btr to wait and get the golds/salt but with this option available now didn't want to wait to get a different one :roll: :oops: :oops:

ABC tackle in D7 stocks SALT, not sure about prices though...
