#1 Post by paulocallaghan »

People: me

Duration: 2-5

Tide: flooding

Weather: wet

Bait: rag, lug muscle

Rigs: pullies

Results: 4lb pollock

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report:

went out to try out my new zziplex primo match. lovely rod. tried fishing in the kelp at the statue on the east pier. lost a lot of gear even with rotton bottoms i was breaking off :evil:

got the nice pollock on the retrieve on lug. nice fish and the rod had the power to handle it and probably a few of its brothers at the same time.

verdict: GET A ZZIPLEX PRIMO MATCH

I'm thinking hard about the primo Match Paul... How would you rate bite detection on it?

I'm looking for something with good bite detection and can put a bait out far if needed.

well i only got d 1 fish, and that was on the retrieve, but i would imagine that it had a great bite detection, based solely on how sensitive the tip was yet it was extremely powerful.

a useful tip i was give before was to assemble the rod and just barely tap the butt while watching the reation on the tip. when i tried this on it the rod was dancing like mad, so i would imagine there is a good bite detection

best advice for catching species is girls dont like fishing and its hard to catch fish when you sell all your gear'
