courtown north beach

#1 Post by eric »

People:me,samo and some of his mates

Duration:9-3

Tide:its wexford?

Weather:sunny

Bait:peeler,rag,lug,sandeel,mackerel,mussel

Rigs:3 hook clip downs and 2 hook loop rigs

Results:cod,whiting,lesser weaver,plaice,scorpion fish,dab and dogfish
killiney:whiting and wrasse.

Catch and Release:: Yes(cod and flounder where kept for the dinner)

Report:left killiney at 7:30 to leave for courtown. got there at about 9 and started fishing.dogs and dabs came on to the feed straight away ensuring we didn't blank. after about half an hour samo's mate got a lovely cod in close which was soon followed by a nice flounder. i then manged to land my first ever lesser weaver. at around twelve i got a lovely slack liner which i hoped was a late ray, i bent into the fish and it fought well having a few little runs, finally it was landed only to my disappointment to revile a hearty dog. we left after and hour of blanking.
with some bait left over i decided to give killiney a go, straight away i got into small corkwing wrasse and whiting as darkness fell i hooked into a bass which fell off after a breaker hit it.left for home at around 6.
