Why has mullet got bad name??

#1 Post by bouncer965 »

Ive being fishing about 7mnths and everywhere i go people who are fishing always seem to hate mullet being around. As yet i havnt tried to target these yet but will in the future as they look a strong fish.

Just wondering if anyone could shed some light on this subject cheers.

Sewage....what a load of crap!!

An old timer pointed out to me years ago....when sewage went directly into rivers or off shore.....Prawns, Crabs and the like would feed well.....in turn fish would feed well off them etc etc....now that rivers are so clean you can almost drink the water, where have all the fish gone.....fish dont like chloride

would agree with you on this tom. sewage also promots alot of algae and other marine vegitation which makes up a proportion of mullets diet. would also add that they are the best fighting fish in our waters bar none. on light gear they go like crazy

HMMMM you guys are getting me itchy to go try and bag one. Im new to the fishing and like a good challenge. Theres loads near me and so i think i'll have to go and try my luck this week and see if i can put one on my catch list.

Ive read a fair bit on here about trying to catch them so i'll try a bit of ground baiting and bread to see if i get a result. Cheers for the replies lads always nice to know what the story is :D :D
