People: me
Duration: 7.00 am - 10.30 am
Tide: low water @ 7.17 am
Weather: cloudy but not cold, no wind
Bait: frozen sandeels/lugs, rubber sandeels/spinners
Rigs: floater - spinning
Results: 1 coalfish, 1 wrasse
Catch and Release:: Yes
Report:
After 2 weeks with no fishing I went to Roches Point with two aims: I never fished with low water so I'm looking for rock marks where it is possible and I'm also wondering if it's more important the state of the tide or the light.
Got the coalfish (roughly 20 cm) during one of the first casts, lost another one probably slightly smaller after the flood started.
No bites on the floater until the light came, but then I'd say there were a good activity! Also the wrasse was small (no more than 15 cm) but I really like the colors of this fish! I'm just sorry that the hook got stuck in a gill :? but it swam away enough happily... Lost something else on the floater cause I was having a nice cup of tea.... :oops: !
With the light I now tried spinning with some other bigger lures, I was casting everywhere at any depth but no sign of fishes.
Other than that I saw something I never saw before: a bird dived (or fell?) into the water just 20 meters far from me...now, on the right there were only rocks so it could only swim to the left, I kept watching around for 10 minutes and never saw it coming out... maybe I was still sound asleep, but I seriously think it committed suicide!

Can't say wich bird it was, I just saw something brown diving fast into the water...anyway, whatever bird it was it's amazing how can it swim well! According to its direction and all the rocks under the water it wasn't easy to get out from there! just wondering, does anybody know what's the specimen size for a bird??...!! :lol: :lol:
