Hardback crabs

#1 Post by Adam S »

hi everyone

can anyone point me to an area in the dublin vicinity where its possible to collect some hardback crabs for wrasse fishing, even as far south as greystones area. would it be best to try at one of the piers or harbours like howth with a trap or go rock turning.

thanks, any pms will be kept to my self

thanks

Adam,

You can collect all the hardback crabs you want at the wall in clontarf...anywhere from the wooden bridge to the swimming pool will do .

in theory smooothhounds, cod, ray and bass should eat em, problem would be creating a scent trail,so clear conditions would be essential.
