These are on my wish list for 2008:

Megrim
Hake
Halibut
Haddock
Witch

Suggestions, tips etc most welcome.

well if you catch a megrim.. you have cleared 2 on the list..

megrim and witch are the same species..

head out to bray and anchor yourself of the head with feathers baited with mussel or rag. theres tuns of mini haddock there or so im told.

this says they are separate species. Iain knows...

Only Megrim I have ever seen were out of Cork, Eric is right about haddock off Bray, can't help on the rest.

Mine are
spurdog
plaice of edible size
bass

but if you find hake or halibut please let me know

anyway it says that in Ireland witch and megrim are the same so, as we are in Ireland, they are the same species. if we were anywere else in the world you would be right DaveHaddock.

Different species, same name. Sure they are all flatfish anyhows. If you catch a flattie at all that should cover you for megrim, topknots, the whole lot. :wink: :wink:
